Abby's wedding cake! I gifted this cake to Abby and Wayne, who's daughter Analise is good friends with Cassidy. Her flowers were just beautiful, and really made the cake look amazing. Now it's my turn to make a wedding cake- for ME!!
Tardis cake!! For all of you Dr. Who fans. I decided NOT to use fondant because I just don't like the way it tastes, so this is a little bit like a re-tardis cake (hahahahaaha!) but it was delicious! Complete with a blinking light on top, and the real paper that's attached to the Tardis on the series. I just copied that from the website, pasted it onto a word doc and resized it to fit the scale of the cake. I used gum paste to make the police call box sign, which isn't an exact replica as I ran out of room for any additional words. When I brought the cake up, I had a friend turn on the stereo, where I had cued up the sound of the Tardis taking off! My fiance was very impressed.

This was a super fun but challenging project. For my friend's son's birthday, he really wanted a Nike hightop shoe cake. I followed a design of a real shoe from the web and carved the cake from a square pan shape. Had to stack the heel to give it height, and put layers of fondant over it to hold it together. Then hand painted the swoosh!
Made this fun pillow cake for my darling friend Val, for her birthing way baby shower. Round cake on the bottom with orange fondant and almond flavored cake on the top for the pillow part... complete with a baby Ganesh!

Mountain Climber Cake!

I had the pleasure of making this super fun cake for my close girlfriend, as she had planned a 40th birthday for her husband. Since he's into rock and mountain climbing, I was sooo excited to make this cake! It was so much fun. I rolled out a combination of tinted fondant and gum paste, let it dry overnight and then literally broke it into peices, that i then used royal icing to "glue" on to the base layer. The cake itself was chocolate, with ( i think) strawberry and chocolate filling, plus a base layer of gray tinted fondant that served to hold the multiple cake pieces together. The rocks are edible as well! I cracked up making the little climber guy, and it's obviously not to scale but no one cared. Great party, super fun day!

Rock climber and rock n roll!~

I made this little rock climber guy for Heidi and Tyler's combined birthday party. They included her sister Holly and her friend Jeff, who happened to enjoy climbing. I'd never met him before but didn't want him to be left out... so...the little climber guy is made out of fondant and gumpaste and it just cracked me up the way he was completely smooshed against the rock. I put together an ensemble of sorts with the stacked "jewels" for Heidi, the guitar (which i carved using a template from a square cake), a mini Warhol cake and the climber!

Olivia's cake

I made this one for little Olivia, who turned 2. The response i got was fantastic!! One child who never eats the cake part, only the frosting, gobbled down two whole pieces! This is sooo rewarding, especially when the kids are happy. Seeing that little girl smile so big when I brought in her cake just made my whole day!!!
